"We've started dirty, and we will stay dirty!" says Offel, singer and guitar player of the best German trio in modern Blues Rock. Offel knows what he is talking about. The home of his band KONGO SKULLS is the famous Reeperbahn in Hamburg, Germany and these guys have spend half of their musical live on those stages.
"We are not that kind of band that is going to sit around in a nice penthouse. We simply want to play! It doesn't matter where we are, together we can put up a wall of sound every time!" says Offel to the question, where the energy of their impressive live shows comes from. No matter if they play in front of 40.000 people when the St.Pauli football club climbs up the national soccer leagues or if they are in the middle of nowhere in front of 50 kids - the KONGO SKULLS know how to reach an audience and entertain them.
You can feel this kind of energy on "Perfect Suicide" their latest release to date. The record hit the stores in November 2009 and is one of the honest and tightest records Abandon Records has released until that day. The album is a tribute to the great songwriters of the old days like B.B. King, recorded with a huge and modern sound.
The 13 own tracks on this record makes you wanna party the whole night and then you know that it is not neccessary to make a trip to Kanada to listen to some very good modern blues.
