GLOWING ELEPHANTS debut record „Radioactive Creampieces“ has been a great starter for the Retro-Pop quartette from Cologne in Germany. The record is the evidence for the fact that it is still possible for young bands to convince people just by their music.
Only by the great songs of their first album and by the help of Abandon Records they got supported by the Initiative Musik, Germanys first official sponsor institution for popular music. With this support the radio promotion agency Lumax as well as the booking agency x-why-z joined forces with Abandon Records to help the band find their place in the music business. Lumax promoted the singles “Bassmans Gallery” and “Kisses and Greetings” in the radio and gained them airplay on big stations as WDR2, NDR2, N-Joy, Jump, MotorFM and many more. X-Why-Z booked the band as a support act on the DATSUNS tour and gave them the opportunity to perform for a bigger audience. Right after that they shared the stage with THE BLACK ANGELS before headliner shows were booked for April 2009.
The twelve Pop-Rock songs on the debut record of the band around vocalist Timo Krohn are the return of Pop music back to the roots. Hand-made and with a clear focus on catchy hook lines and avoiding to loose meaning on the same time. Radio hits without any embarrassment that are totally made to play them live. This is, by the way, also the opinion of Eclipsed magazine which voted Glowing Elephants debut as 2nd best record in their issue of February 2009.
Lately the band is busy producing their next album, called "Harlequins Work".
