Niels Meier (Guitar) and Hangman (Drums) were looking for new musical challenges when they met each other in the late sommer of 2006 through the windings of Hamburgs music scene.
BLACK TORRO was born and should become more than a short time project. From a lot of good riffs and beats these two guys formed a handful of catchy song that gained the attention of Kai Lehn (Bass) and Mikko Vetter (Vocals).
Together the are pretty high on the "torro-scale" - a scale that shows the intensity of tornados. Great melodies packed into a massive groove surrounded by a wall of noise. It almost feels like a undertow when you see this band live. You will be sucked in by there intense performance and sound. BLACK TORRO is one of those bands that brings their own sound with them no matter where and in front of whoever.
After a first EP in 2009, produced by Eike Freese (Dark Age, Callejon), the band decided to record an album together with Florian Sommer (Tape, 4Lyn) to bring this undertow to tape. We're looking forward to a new and impressive release.
